The Baptist Institute of Health Sciences (BIHS) is an accredited educational institution located on the campus of Mbingo Baptist Hospital, a 300-bed referral teaching hospital located north of Bamenda, in the Northwest Region of Cameroon. The hospital is part of the large health system of the Cameroon Baptist Convention.
Dear Prospective Healthcare Students, The Baptist Institute of Health Sciences is very happy to become a part of your career as a healthcare professional. The Institute is a Christian medical training institution, which is passionate about providing quality training for the next generation of healthcare professionals. We want to graduate professionals who will be relevant and resilient for a robust healthcare service in Cameroon and other African countries. The training at the Baptist Institute of Health Sciences is built on three major pillars: a solid theoretical medical sciences foundation, rich clinical experiences and classic healthcare research. Contemporary healthcare requires a revolution that results in the integration of upstream and downstream medical patients care. Health is an asset which can be preserved with an upstream (preventive) approach and maintained or re-established with a downstream (curative) approach. The Baptist Institute of Health Sciences is intentionally championing the training of a new generation of health systems leadership. This training includes a high sense of human-centred care and has a focus on human dignity and caregiver integrity. The Institute welcomes students from all tribes, ethnicity, physical ability, sex, or religious backgrounds, without discrimination. We want students who are interested in holistic healthcare to lead this new generation of healthcare professionals.
